NParks opened the rejuvenated Chinese and Japanese Gardens on 8 September 2024, completing the 90-hectare Jurong Lake Gardens. NParks describes this as Singapore's first national gardens in the heartlands. URA describes Jurong Lake Gardens as Singapore's third national garden.

Tender closes 17 November 2026
URA launched a White site at Town Hall Link on 3 July 2026. The tender closes at 12 noon on 17 November 2026. The site can provide up to 1,200 private homes, a minimum of 40,000 sqm of office space, and complementary uses. URA says it is connected to Jurong East MRT and the future CR19 station via multi-level pedestrian linkages, and sits next to Jurong Town Hall.

Targeted to open around end-2027
Science Centre Singapore says a new centre is being built as a gateway to Jurong Lake Gardens and as an integral part of Jurong Lake District. Construction has commenced, and the centre is targeted to open around end-2027. URA’s JLD overview says it is to be completed in 2027.

Stage 1 of the Jurong Region Line is under construction. LTA’s 4 March 2026 rail update says Stage 1 will open around mid-2028, instead of the earlier end-2027 timeline.

CRL Phase 2 extends the Cross Island Line west to Jurong Lake District. LTA targets this phase for 2032. It is separate from Phase 3, which continues further west from JLD.

CRL Phase 3 extends west from Jurong Lake District to Gul Circle. Construction is expected to begin in 2027, with stations targeted for the late 2030s. It is not the same milestone as CRL Phase 2 to JLD.

2040-2050 horizon
URA and the JLD Planning and Urban Design Guide describe the official 410-hectare district as the largest mixed-use business district outside the city centre. The guide says that when fully developed over 20 to 30 years it can provide 100,000 new jobs and 20,000 new homes. STB gives a 2040 to 2050 horizon for those figures.
